Transforming Lives: Tran’s Journey with uLaunch NDIS

NDIS participant Tran Nguyen has made remarkable progress in building her confidence and developing employment skills since joining uLaunch NDIS and the School Leaver’s Employment Supports program. 

When uLaunch NDIS Consultant Adriano first met Tran and her support coordinator, she was extremely shy, spoke very little, and was hesitant to open up. Adriano’s empathetic and supportive approach helped Tran gradually build trust and share her struggles. Together, they explored ways she could participate more actively in her community and society.   

One significant milestone came when Adriano arranged for Tran to gain work experience as a retail assistant at The Salvos Store in Moorebank. At the start, Tran relied heavily on Adriano’s guidance to handle tasks and interact with staff and customers. Adriano’s patient support ensured Tran felt safe and encouraged.   

Over time, Tran’s confidence steadily grew, and she began completing tasks more independently. Staff and management at The Salvos Store noticed her improved efficiency and her newfound comfort dealing with customers. Eventually, Tran no longer needed Adriano’s close supervision and could carry out her duties with confidence.   

A defining moment in Tran’s journey occurred on her birthday. Initially hesitant about the store’s tradition of public birthday celebrations, Tran surprised everyone by agreeing to participate. Her willingness to embrace the moment symbolised the significant strides she had made in overcoming her shyness.   

Tran’s journey is a testament to her determination and resilience. Adriano, who had been with her every step of the way, couldn’t be proud of how far she has come. With the continued support of uLaunch NDIS, Tran is on a promising path toward employment, independence, and active community participation.
